I have found no detailed instructions (including in the manual) on how exactly to change the ink waste absorber in my Canon i9900 printer. Also, you have to reset this somehow?

I have a hewlett packard all in one T series if that helps. My black ink cartrige is fine, but my mother was told that if you replace on cartrige, you have to replace the other (like batteries I guess). Is this true?
